
It is the intent of the Genoa Cemetery Association Board to protect the dignity of members who wish to comment before the Board. Citizens should have the ability to freely comment on items and/or projects that are brought before the Board for action without interference. In order to ensure that every member desiring to speak before the Board has the opportunity to express his or her opinion, it is requested that members of the audience refrain from making comments or making any remarks or gestures that may interrupt, interfere with, or prevent the speaker from commenting on any present or future item/project.
For any item on the agenda, public comment may be permitted at the discretion of the Board’s presiding officer. Public comment on all items appearing on the agenda must be limited to 3 minutes.

a. Elaine Shively resigned from the GCA Board November 2025, and Brent Haliwell was appointed to fill her seats remaining term until 04/14/2027.
b. Genoa Cemetery Association new centralized email and phone number. New signage on property reflects this information, as well as Genoa Cemetery Website. https://genoacemetery.org/
c. GCA Board had a consensus that the Adams cemetery street sign will be re-established in its old location at a July 2025 Special Meeting.
d. Updated “Deed” document renamed Deed of Easement. “Deed” is not a purchase of property, but rather a right of easement. Legal representative, Kara Hayes, has approved new Deed of Easement document. Both the newly revised and previous “Deed” form reflect consistent practice, with no changes in owner rights and responsibilities.
e. “Perpetual fund” idea has been implemented in the past and these up-front funds must be specifically accounted to individual plots as restricted funds, complicating the accounting. As a previous Board found this to be unmanageable, it was taken to a membership vote which dissolved the program and reintroduced funds back to general funds.
f. Update on Rock pile and Section Q boundary.

a. Genoa Cemetery Board terms of Eric Brink and Loren Simpson end April 2026.Elections to be held for these two seats, which would be a three-year commitment ending April 2029.
i. Voting by proxies permitted subject to verification of proxies.
To aid in the verification of proxy process, the Board requests that proxies be delivered to the Secretary at P.O. Box 971 Genoa, NV89411, by April 6, 2026, so verification can be performed before the meeting.
Proxies may be brought the day of the meeting, however, if proxies cannot be verified at the meeting, the results of the vote for new Board members may be delayed pending verification. If this occurs, the results of the election will be posted to the GCA website.
Per the Bylaws Article III, Section 2, “Members are entitled to one (1) vote per deeded plot provided their membership fees and assessments are current.” PLEASE MAKE SURE YOUR DUES AND ASSESSMENTS ARE CURRENT IF YOU INTEND TO CAST A VOTE.
